Kid Icarus: Redemption is not a sequel nor a prequel to Kid Icarus: Uprising. The game explains the three year gap between the release of the Chaos Kin and the return of Palutena and Pit. The player plays as Dark Pit, who is trying to defeat both the Underworld Army and Palutena's Army, all while trying to save Pit. Redemption has a huge emphasis on co-op multiplayer. Part of the game plays much like a dungeon crawler, and six players can play the game's main story mode.
